Creative Thought Abroad: Your Study Abroad Destination in 60 seconds

Off-Campus Study & Exchanges invites you to take part in the first annual OCSE video contest!

This contest is open to any Skidmore student participating on a Skidmore Program during the 2012-13 academic year.

Deadline: Monday, April 15th, 2013

While there are no specific categories, we are looking for a movie that best represents living and learning abroad, especially in relation to the local culture and your experience in it. There are also no limitations on genre or format so use that creative thought and show us your take on study abroad in 60 seconds or less.

Rules

You must be a Skidmore student who participated or is currently participating on a Skidmore program (this contest is not open to those on approved non-Skidmore programs). Only one submission per person, though a group can also submit one video. It must be an original piece of work created for this contest. The subject matter must also be suitable for distribution. Videos can be any genre or format and created with any audio/visual multimedia.

How to Submit

All entries must be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo and then the link sent to Eliza Camire (ecamirea@skidmore.edu) with your full name, email address, and link to the YouTube or Vimeo video.

Awards

First Place: $250

OCSE will award a prize for the student video that best captures the relationship between the local culture and their learning experience abroad.

Awards will be distributed to students' Skidmore ID declining balance account that can be used on or off campus. See http://cms.skidmore.edu/card/index.cfm for on and off campus merchants.

Students that are awarded prize money or prizes which have a monetary value must be advised that the will receive a W9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number) from Skidmore College's Accounts Payable Office.

While they will have to provide the information requested by completing the form, this does not necessarily mean they will have any tax liability from receiving the award.  A Form 1099 (Miscellaneous Income) will not be issued unless a student receives more than $600 in prizes from Skidmore College in a calendar year.

All video entries (winners and non-winners) will become property of the Office of Off-Campus Study & Exchanges and can be used for Skidmore marketing and publications at any time.
