Skidmore College Pandemic Plan
Rochelle Calhoun

A pandemic is a global disease outbreak. An influenza pandemic occurs when a new influenza A virus emerges for which there is little or no immunity in the human population, begins to cause serious illness and then spreads easily person-to-person worldwide.

Skidmore College, as part of its Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, closely monitors news, information and guidance provided by the leading public health organizations on the regional, state and federal levels, in order to ensure that the College is prepared with an appropriate response to a pandemic influenza in the event that one occurs.

We encourage all members of the Skidmore community to become educated about this potential health threat by visiting the resources located at "For More Information"
