Research Interest

Professor Gerbi studies turbulence dynamics and optical properties of the coastal and surface ocean, processes that are vital to predicting everything from the likely path of spilled oil to the motion of phytoplankton in the upper ocean.  His work involves numerical modeling, shipboard observations, and autonomous observations.
