Requirements

Government Majors

Requirements for a major in government are a minimum of nine courses and 30 credit hours including GO 101, 103 and at least one course from each of the following four areas:

(1) American Government 211, 222, 223, 231, 224, 251C, 252, 305, 311, 312, 313, 314, 316, 331, 332, 333, 334, 352, 353, 362, 367, GH 322
(2) Comparative Government 203, 209, 213, 227, 239, 240, 241, 251A, 327, 328, 344, 355, 365;
(3) International Relations 201, 219, 225, 228, 229, 251B, 301, 309, 319, 338, 340, 339, 356, 357, 366;
(4) Political Theory 204, 205H, 236, 251D, 303, 304, 308, 323, 351a or 351b, 354.

Government Minor

The government minor consists of five courses with a minimum of 18 credit hours to be determined in consultation with the department chair. At least two courses must be taken at the 300 level.
