WHEN DO I HAVE TO ARRIVE AND WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I GET HERE?
Please plan to arrive at the Summer Registration Desk located on the second level of Case College Center on Saturday, June 29, between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (A $10.00 cash key deposit is required at the time of check-in and will be returned at check-out.) Please see the website for the campus map and directions. Mandatory residence hall and program orientations will be held on Saturday evening and Sunday morning and afternoon.
WILL THERE BE TRANSPORTATION TO CAMPUS FROM THE AIRPORT, BUS OR TRAIN STATIONS ON
SATURDAY, JUNE 29?
The director and program staff will make every effort to arrange for transportation of students from the airport, bus and train stations to campus. Please fill out your transportation form and return to us promptly.We recommend you arrive before 4:00 p.m. on June 29 in order to be met by program staff.

Yes. Skidmore College will arrange transportation of students from campus on Saturday, August 3. Check-out is by 4:00 p.m.

WHAT ARE THE LIVING ACCOMODATIONS?
Residential Counselors will be present on opening day to show you where your residence hall is and to help you get settled. Pre-College program students live together in a single Residential Hall. Eleven Resident Assistants and a Head Resident will live with you and will be working exclusively with the high school program. Each student will be assigned to a single or double room equipped with a bed, desk, chair, and dresser. A pillow and a bedspread will be provided.
WHAT ARE THE DINING ACCOMODATIONS?
All meals will be served to the campus community in the multi-million dollar renovated Murray-Aikens Dining Hall. For several reasons, the College cannot cater to special diets, but you will find a large assortment of foods, hot and cold entrees including vegetarian and vegan selections, at every meal. Cooking in your residential rooms is prohibited.
WHEN DO CLASSES BEGIN?
Monday, July 1, is the first day of class. A current class schedule will be provided at registration.
WILL I GET A BOOK/ART SUPPLY LIST-- AND WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO PURCHASE BOOKS AND
The art supplies list is on our website along with all other forms. Book lists will be provided when you check in. You may purchase your books at the Skidmore Shop, located on the first floor of Case Center. Note: The Skidmore Shop will only be open from noon until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th. Please plan your arrival accordingly.
WILL THERE BE ACCESS TO COMPUTERS ON-CAMPUS?
There are public computers in a number of locations on campus where you can access your email and browse the Internet. Every residence hall room has Road Runner high-speed connectivity, though not wireless. However, many areas of the campus are wireless.
WHAT ABOUT TELEPHONES?
The College does NOT provide telephones in its residence halls; however, all residential hall rooms are wired with telephone outlets that make available on-campus and local calls free of charge. Long-distance, credit card, and collect calls may be made as well. You may bring a standard touch-tone or rotary telephone, and bring your own cord line. Most students have their own cell phones as well.
CAN I USE THE SPORTS AND RECREATION CENTER?
Yes. Program participants have access to an indoor pool, racquetball courts, and workout, fitness and weight rooms. Tennis courts are available on a court-available basis.
CAN I RECEIVE MAIL WHILE I’M ON CAMPUS?
Yes. Mail for all programs is distributed at the Skidmore Post Office located on campus. The correct address for incoming mail is as follows:

HOW MUCH SPENDING MONEY/CASH SHOULD I BRING?
We suggest $50 per week. This does not include books or art supplies. Students should bring cash or traveler’s checks issued in the student’s name. Parents should not send personal checks, as students are unable to cash them.
Field trips are planned on the weekends with most expenses being covered by the activities fee. A lunch will be provided on the first trip to a local amusement park, The Great Escape/Six Flags. The New York City Ballet is in residence at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center where you will see a matinee performance. Lastly, a trip is scheduled to Lake George.

WHAT OTHER ITEMS SHOULD I BRING?
- Twin sheets (extra long), a pillowcase, blankets or comforter, extra pillows and anything else that will make you feel comfortable
- Large bath size towels, wash cloths, all personal toiletries (including soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.), small mirror, shower shoes, and a small tote for carrying your bathroom products
- Small study lamp -high intensity (remember dorm rooms can be dark)
- The dorm is not air-conditioned. For your personal comfort bring a fan. Air conditioners are not allowed.
- Alarm clock
- Flashlight, in case of power outages
- Rain gear and umbrella
- Clothes hangers
- Laundry detergent for the washing machines - all machines take the Skidmore College ID Declining Balance Card, which is also your Dining Hall Card.
- You may want to bring a bathing suit/towel as Skidmore has an indoor pool, and we have a beach trip planned.
- Art students: because the studio is, by nature, very messy, make sure to pack clothes you don’t mind getting permanently dirty.
- You may want to dress up for the New York City Ballet performance.
