SCOOP: LODGING at the Great Camp Sagamore in Raquette Lake, NY!

Have you thought about hiking and canoeing, but you are not quite ready to pitch a tent under the stars or carry a fully-loaded backpack for miles? For students who are uncomfortable with the idea of a complete outdoor camping experience (Wilderness), we suggest SCOOP's "LODGING" component. The Great Camp Sagamore in Raquette Lake, NY provides lodging (beds and bathrooms) for approximately 50 students from the Class of 2015. As a SCOOP participant, you will gain an introduction to the history, culture, and traditions of the Adirondack region. During the day, you will have the opportunity to canoe and hike throughout the Adirondacks with an experienced, licensed guide, sit around the fire at night with your new friends, and have the chance to ask about Skidmore, residential life, academics, clubs, sports and more. The fun of canoeing and hiking will be enhanced through the Skidmore-Sagamore outdoor learning venture which we hope will inspire a sense of individual responsibility to nature and community.
