Bertha Irene (Clark) Whipple

Bertha Irene (Clark) Whipple, a longtime member of Skidmore’s housekeeping staff, died Jul, 27, 2013, at Wesley Health Center in Saratoga Springs. She was 73.

The daughter of Frances (Freeman) and Jess Clark, Bertha attended Saratoga Springs schools. She started working at Skidmore in 1978 and retired in 1995.

When not working on campus, she enjoyed watching game shows, the Food Network, WWE, New York Mets baseball, and Buffalo Bills football. She was an avid lighthouse collector and enjoyed word search puzzles. Most of all, her relatives recall, she loved spending time with family, especially at Christmas, when their house was always full of fun and laughter.

Bertha’s survivors include her children Heidi Morgan (Pete Jones), Fred Whipple Jr. (Karen Ranberg), Katrina (Alan) Keech, Kathy Whipple, Karen (Albert) Sirchia, and Stuart Whipple; a brother and sisters; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
