  • Ernest R. "Ernie" Lloyd III, a longtime member of the housekeeping staff, died May 19, 2010, at Albany Medical Center. He was 85.
  • David E. Long, the architect of Skidmore's modern fundraising program and longtime vice president at the College, died Feb. 7, 2012, at Saratoga Hospital.
  • George Lowis, professor emeritus of sociology, died Friday, October 12, 2018. He was 88.
  • Mary Constance Lynn, a beloved professor of American studies emerita who documented Skidmore College’s history in a cherished monograph, died Feb. 23, 2021. She was 77.
  • Richard Mabb, a longtime member of the facilities staff, died February 27, 2010, at Saratoga Hospital.
  • David Mabb, who worked in grounds and dining services, died December 6, 2012. He was 55.
  • Alton A. Markley, a forty-year professor of chemistry, died March 24, 1983.
  • Mary Ellen May, who retired from Dining Services in 2010, died April 16, 2022, in Normal, Illinois. She was 79.
  • Dora McCormick, a secretary and receptionist for the Counseling Center and Health Services, died on March 8, 2023, at the Wesley Health Care Center. She was 73.
  • Carole McDermott, a longtime office manager in the Office of Communications, died August 22, 2014, in Saratoga Springs. She was 80.
  • Robert Alan McGill, associate professor emeritus of English and a scholar of Native American literature, died June 14, 2009, in Gainesville, Florida. He was 84.
  • Mary Elizabeth McMartin, a longtime member of the Student Affairs staff and the mother of a Skidmore graduate, died September 26, 2009, at Saratoga Hospital, following a short illness.
  • Robert Meisner, a well-respected cook in Dining Services, died as a result of a tragic accident on Sunday, March 7, 2021. He was 65.
  • Richard W. Mickus, manager of custodial operations and painters, died Friday, March 13, 2020. He was 75.
  • Jeanne Marie Monroe, a member of Skidmore's housekeeping staff for 16 years, died December 30, 2013, at the age of 54.
  • Joseph “Jo-Jo” L. Moore, who rose through the ranks to become chef, died on March 24, 2023. He was 84.
  • Kathleen Morrison, a teacher at Skidmore's Greenberg Child Care Center, died August 5, 2004, in Ballston Spa, N.Y. She was 49.
  • Helen Axtell Mowry, professor emerita of biology, died August 21, 1994, in Kingston, Mass. She was 98.
  • Raymond Murphy, who served Skidmore as an electrician until his retirement in 1997, died Sept. 1, 2021. He was 88.
