a dance intensive at Deeply Rooted Dance Theater in Chicago, IL, with a research project
exploring the lived experience of black women through dance.
Anna Gubbins '15, an Environmental Studies major, will be conducting research with
Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, FL, through the Sea Turtle Conservation and Research
Program's Nighttime Tagging Internship.
Caitlin Link '16, an Art History major, will be participating in the Summer Institute
for Curatorial Practice at Hampshire College in Northampton, MA.
Catherine King '15, a double major in German and International Affairs and a Government
minor, is interning with the political party Die Linke in Berlin, Germany.
Eve Ross '15, an Anthropology major, will be participating in the International Partnership
in Service Learning Summer Study Abroad in Cuzco, Peru.
Hannah Smith '16, a History major, is conducting Revolutionary War-related research
with the Saratoga National Historical Park at Schuyler House in Stillwater, NY.
Hope Spector '15, a Sociology major, is working with New York City-based Atikus Insurance
Inc. to launch a new model of microcredit loans in Kigali, Rwanda.
James Rider '16, a double major in Government and International Affairs, is doing
research for non-partisan Project Vote Smart in Philipsburg, MT.
Julie Ochs '14, a Biology major and Studio Arts minor, is conducting research and
creating a visual exploration on algal cell wall synthesis at the National University
of Ireland in Galway as she continues to explore the rich connections between the
visual worlds of science and art.
Kengthsagn Louis '15, is interning with Foundation Toya in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
A native of Hative, she will be working on projects aimed at empowering girls and
women and promoting their leadership skills.
Kiara Boone '15 (second on right), an Education Studies major and Sociology minor,
is working as an intern math teacher at Tech Boston Academy in Dorchester, MA, through
Breakthrough Greater Boston, which serves diverse, low-income middle school students.
Lisa Fierstein '16, an American Studies major and Arts Administration minor, will
be interning with the Director of Education and Community Engagement at independent
radio station WYEP in Pittsburgh, PA.
Mayra Nunez '16, an Economics major and Business minor, is working with undocumented
high school students as part of the Bright Prospect Dream Team in Pomona, CA.
Michelle Mendia '14, a Psychology major and Spanish minor, is helping Ecuadorians
transition to the US through Organizacion Juventud Ecuatoriana (JUVE) in New York
Musa Komeh '15, an Exercise Science major, was selected for an internship in New York
City with the Cliton Foundation Global Initiative's Health Team; the organization
is committed to improving health, strengthening local economies, promoting health
and wellness, and protecting the environment on a global basis.
Nicole Becker '16, a Self-Determined major in Dance Science, is researching the biomechanics
of tendon injuries and repair at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai in New
Ruth Allard '16, a Biochemistry major and Studio Arts minor, will be a research intern
with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's Emergency Medicine Research Program in
Sally Jernigan-Smith '15, a double major in International Affairs and Religious Studies
and double minor in Latin American Studies and Spanish, is providing translation services
and community organization with Latino Mirgrant Workers through the Backstretch Employee
Service Team in Saratoga Springs, NY.
