Chaired by the VP Diversity Affairs, CoDA acts as a liason between Senate and OSDP clubs, planning open forum dialogues to discuss issues of diversity and social justice, mainly in relation to Skidmore’s campus. CoDA is also responsible for planning and facilitating the awesome new Skidmore Urban Experience (SUE) program, where students can visit major cities like Boston and NYC for a day for only $10! Interested in the judicial system? What about upholding Skidmore’s Honor Code?
When the Honor Code is said to be violated, IB—a tripartite board of students, faculty, and administrators—hears cases to determine whether or not a violation has occurred. IB judges responsibility of the respondent, and then comes up with creative sanctions to address the harms of the complainant or greater Skidmore community. AC provides oversight and support for the athletic, fitness, physical activity, and recreation programs on campus, while advising the Dean of Student Affairs and others in articulating and espousing the vision for athletics, fitness and recreation at Skidmore to assure productive links between athletic and academic programs. The President's Awards honor individuals and groups who have embraced the educational mission and progressive spirit of the College through exemplary commitment to personal excellence, campus pride, and community service. Nominations are open year-round and reviewed each spring through a process administered by the Student Affairs Subcommittee of the Institutional Planning and Policy Committee. Case Council examines and discusses Case Center as a student space, both architecturally and through the amenities it provides. The group is responsible for changes such as the establishment of the Game Room and making suggestions to Dining Services about late night food options. Membership includes the Dean of Student Affairs, administrative representatives, the student V.P. for Residential Affairs, and 1 student member appointed through SGA Willingness-to-Serve.
