Skidmore College Student Alumni Society
Who Are we?
 |
Former president Mike
Meguerdichian (left), and current president Allison Marino
(right). |
SAS was founded in 1985 and originally known
as the Pacesetters. The Student Alumni Society functions
to better connect current students and alumni in an effort to network,
build relationships, and foster pride in Skidmore among the undergraduate
community.
We are members of the Association for Student
Advancement Programs (ASAP) and attend yearly conferences as members
of District II. SAS is funded by the Office of Development and Alumni
Affairs as well as group-led fundraisers.
We ask our members to represent the student body
at a variety of Alumni Affairs functions and to also serve as student
resources. As a member of SAS, one is able to take a leadership
role in the group, build a resume, network with fantastic alumni,
and make connections as a visible and engaged Skidmore student.
What do we do?
- Real World: A program that brings alumni back
to campus to speak on a particular career path and life after
Skidmore.
- Survival Packs: Need a snack during finals?
SAS can take care of that!
- Alumni Board Buddies
Why should I be an SAS member?
- This is a unique opportunity to be involved
in a dynamic and fun group that you can help to define!
- Fabulous networking opportunities lie within
the events that you attend!
- You'll learn valuable leadership skills!
- You'll learn valuable pieces of information
and history about Skidmore that many students never hear about!
