Dear Skidmore Polo Club Alumni and Friends,
We are happy to see an increased interest
in the Polo club this year from both the students and the
administration. Our club has record number of new JVs
and a huge group of returning Varsity. The future is looking
bright too. With the addition of our new website, I have received
a ton of emails over the summer and this school year from
high school students interested in playing polo for Skidmore.
The Admissions department has also taken a renewed interest
in our club and our contribution to Skidmore, requesting information
about the club that they can give to prospective students
and polo players.
Our growing numbers are just as exciting as the move to our
new and improved facilities. We have relocated to JET Stables in Gansvoort, NY. With the help of a massive barn cleaning
and equipment inventory, we found that we both have and are
in need of a number of things. The Club would like to, first
and foremost, thank those alums and friends of Skidmore Polo
who have already donated much needed equipment and gear.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to the
Club, please contact me or our treasurer and we would gladly
help with the arrangements. Any donation, large or small is
more than welcome. We are currently, and always, in need of
polo arena balls, brushes, mallets, foot mallets, mallet grips,
tack (especially head stalls), blankets, helmets, riding equipment,
and polo wraps. Money donations are, of course, always more
than welcome.
Skidmore Polo Club is looking at a great 2011- 2012 year, with a strong
team, in a great facility, and a few new ponies. With so many Alums and people supporting
the club, we can be sure it will be able to continue for years to come. Thank you all for your infallible support!
