UWW
accepts all transfer credit for courses taken
through an accredited institution at grade C or above. There
is
no limit on how far back that learning goes.
Because
all UWW students receive Skidmore degrees, we believe that
it is essential for all students to have sufficient exposure
to Skidmore learning without compromising the flexibility for
which UWW is known. To this end, all Skidmore UWW students
need to take at least six credits in course work with Skidmore
faculty members and also complete a six-credit final project
as part of their degree plans. The Skidmore courses a student
completes can be online, in class, or by independent study
with Skidmore faculty members.
Experiential
Learning Credit
Your life and work experience can be a part of your UWW program.
Credit is awarded for life experiences equivalent to what you
might have learned in a college classroom. Incorporate life experiences
into your UWW program by submitting a written narrative for evaluation,
describing what you learned and how the learning took place. For
certain types of learning, a portfolio assessment may be appropriate.
Foreign
Language Credit
Students with prior language experience may be given foreign language
credit by examination. Demonstrated proficiency in your native
language can also qualify for up to 12 credits.
College
Level Examination Program Credit
UWW recognizes the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), sponsored
by the College Board. CLEP offers the opportunity for you to earn
credit for what you already know, through a examination system.
Credits are accepted from both general and subject exams, conditional
on test scores. To find a CLEP test center near you, go to www.collegeboard.com/clep/.
