Summary of Program: Studied culture, development, and social justice of Brazil. Had a homestay in Fortaleza, Brazil, while taking Portuguese classes, having lectures, and going on field trips. Took long weekend trips to study specific aspects of the Brazilian culture, such as, art, fishing, education, and health care. Did an independent study project on Musica Popular Brasileiro: The Importance of Preservation.
