Cheers! Here we are at the Friday night banquet. Sherry Ortner was keynote speaker and delivered an interesting lecture about inter-ethnic relations among her Newark, New Jersey high-school class.
In this wonderful candid shot, we see Rob "getting in the zone" prior to presenting his paper on cultural relocation in the Phillipines.
Sarah impresses the audience with her calm demeanor and engaging analysis of domestic violence in Ghana.
Here's Alli just seconds before casually sipping a delicious cold beverage during her presentation on reproductive health in West Africa.
As his session organizer looks on, Jared informs us about scarce water resources in northern India.
Rachel's presentation was locally relevant, dealing with issues of injection drug use and HIV prevention in Hartford.
Kate, Stephanie, and Theona applaud the efforts of Skidmore's Medical Anthropology contingent.
Jonathan, a SUNY grad student working with Professor Ennis-McMillan, did a great job.
The conference's Connecticut venue proved very convenient for supportive Skidmore families; here we see the Ross and Sayko families bubbling with pride.
Not to be outdone, Jason's family travelled all the way from New Hampshire to see their son present a paper about the Skidmore North Woods.
Skidmore Professors of Anthropology Michael Ennis-McMillan and Jill Sweet pose for the camera. They really deserve the credit for Skidmore's success at the conference. I doubt any institution can claim a more supportive and encouraging faculty!
Students and Professors relax after a busy day of presenting papers and attending sessions.
A breakfast of champions...Lisa seems to be enjoying her coffee!
Time to head back to Skidmore. The conference was a good time. Hopefully, Skidmore will send groups of anthropology students for years to come!
