faculty member in drawing and painting, David Miller is the endowed Tuthill
Professor of Studio Art and Director of the Schick Art Gallery. His work
has been widely exhibited and collected throughout the country, and he
has won major awards including a National Endowment for the Arts Award
in Painting and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship for Works
on Paper. He was recently featured in a solo retrospective exhibition
at the Tang Teaching Museum. As Director of the Schick Art Gallery, he
has curated exhibitions including work by Phillip Guston, Grace Hartigan,
Michael Mazur, Alice Neel, Lenore Tawney, among others. He received his
BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago and his MS in Painting from the
University of Wisconsin. An expert graphic artist, he also designs many
department and college publications and print materials.
