Homework will be assigned regularly and collected roughly once per week. Homework should be neat, organized, and include your name and the assignment number. There will be a 72-hour grace period for late assignments, after which I reserve the right to decrease the scores for papers turned in late. Some assignments may be collaborative in nature, by which I mean we will break up the class into groups, and one paper is turned in for the group. Everyone in the group will earn the same grade.
Some weeks, in lieu of exercises, the assignments could be writing essays or more extensive assignments such as a paper. More details of this as we go along. There will be two exams plus a final exam. The exact topics covered on the exams and the dates of the exams will be announced later, and placed on the course website. The final exam will most likely emphasize the material since the second exam rather than be cumulative. However, I reserve the right to change my mind on this as the course progresses.
