MU 208. Music and Culture. An intercultural introduction to music as culture. Topics include voice types, instrument categorizations, pitch and time systems, musical structure, transcription/notation, and ethnography.

Prerequisite: MU 151 (or current enrollment in MU 151) or permission of instructor.

Fulfills the arts-B component of breadth requirement;

Meets expository writing requirement.
