COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Participation (Weekly Participation)
Annotated Timeline
Group Projects
Research Paper/Historiographical Essay

1. Participation-20 % The participation grade will be divided for attendance (5%) and participation in class discussions (15%). Each student will be allowed 2 absences, no questions asked. Additional absences will result in reduction in both attendance & participation grades.

2. Annotated Timeline-10%
2-3 pages (Annotated Timeline) on a single country (Signup September 4)

3. Group Projects -30 % (15 % each presentation)

To be divided as follows:

  • 10% Project Participation
  • 5% Critical Review of Reading

4. Research Paper/Historiographical Essay-40%

a. Annotated Bibliography & Thesis Paragraph: 5%
b. Peer Review of Draft Proposal: 5% (2-3 pages)
c. Final Proposal: 25%
d. Oral Presentation Final Paper 5%
