Ecotec Tote

What’s so totally cool about this tote? Well… it’s made from Ecotec, which is yarn spun from the recovered scraps of newly made clothing in a process that saves energy, land, water and other resources. Think about this… 25,000 tons of new textile fiber is disposed of by North American spinning mills, weavers and fabric manufacturers each year and 40% of cotton grown is wasted between the harvest and the manufacture of garments. So you can save the planet and look tote-ally cool at the same time!

Power Strips

Don’t waste your energy reaching for wall plugs behind the desk. Get a power strip and save time and electricity! 40% of energy used to power consumer electronics is consumed when devices are not in use. Turning off a power strip is the energy boost you need.

Recycled Greeting Cards

Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs

Choosing to buy Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs (CFL’s) over standard incandescent bulbs saves you money as well as reduces your environmental impact. CFL’s may be more expensive at the checkout stand, but they last about 8 times as long as incandescents and use significantly less energy.  Over the life of the bulb, you could save at least $30 in energy costs! Plus, you’re making this choice because it’s the right thing to do. If every household in the U.S. replaced one light bulb with a CFL, it would prevent enough pollution to equal removing one million cars from the road. Do your part!

Recycled Paper Products

Be green everyday of the year! Paper production accounts for about 43% of our harvested wood and about 35% of landfills are taken up by paper products. By using these recycled products you’re saving trees and staying organized! You can make a difference.  Instead of buying new paper, buy recycled!  With every ton recycled paper can save more than 3.3 cubic yards landfill space and help control waste problems.

Detergent: Many traditional fabric softeners are made from tallow and animal by-products. Seventh Generation’s Fabric Softener does not contain animal ingredients, is not tested on animals, and is free of dyes and synthetic fragrances.

Dish-washing liquid: If every household in the U.S. replaced just one 25 oz. bottle of petroleum-based dishwashing liquid with our vegetable-based product, we could save 86,000 barrels of oil, enough to heat and cool 4,900 U.S. homes for a year!

Cleaning solution: If every household in the U.S. replaced just one bottle of 32 oz. petroleum based all purpose cleaner with our renewable resource based product, we could save 7,500 barrels of oil, enough to heat and cool 430 U.S. homes for a year!

Tissues: If every household in the U.S. replaced just one box of 85 sheet virgin fiber facial tissues with 100% recycled ones, we could save: 299,000 trees, 772,000 cubic feet of landfill space, equal to 1,100 full garbage trucks,108 million gallons of water, a year's supply for 850 families of four and avoid 18,000 pounds of chlorinated pollution!

Toilet paper: If every household in the U.S. replaced just one roll of 500 sheet virgin fiber bathroom tissue with 100% recycled ones, we could save 448,000 trees, 1.1 million cubic feet of landfill space, equal to 1,700 full garbage trucks, and 161 million gallons of water, a year’s supply for 1,270 families of four!
