Returns
We
understand that you may need to return a textbook that
you purchased and do not need. Here are some simple
guidelines to follow to make returning your books as
effortless as possible.
Keep your receipt
A Skidmore
Shop register receipt is required to return your books.
After you have purchased you books, keep your receipt in
a safe place and try to remember where that place is.
We even recommend that you sign your receipt to insure
that it cannot be used by anyone other than yourself.
Don't open new books
until you're sure you need them!
If you
purchased a new book, it must be new to return it as
such. That means no torn pages, no highlighter marks,
no names written on the inside cover, no coffee stains
for using it as a coaster…even though mom would be proud
you used a coaster! Please treat you books carefully
and genteelly until you are certain that you will be
keeping them.
Keep track
of any other materials that came bundled with your
books. If they came with CDs or other items, you will
need those items in their original plastic wrapping to
be able to return your book. Ideally, do not open
bundled course materials until you are sure you’ll be
taking that class.
Getting your money
back
When you
return a book, we will issue credit in the same tender
that the book was purchased. You paid cash, we’ll give
you cash, if you used your Skidmore Card account, we’ll
credit your Skidmore Card account…you get the picture.
Important note – if you used a credit card, you will
need the credit card to return the book. If your
parents bought your books (thanks Mom and Dad!) you will
need to have their credit card number to return your
book. We cannot give you cash for a card purchase.
Return your books on
