Moro Rock

Our first full day at Sequoia we took the hike up Moro Rock. The rock is a granitic intrusive that has been excavated by erosion. After climbing the rock, we hiked in the forest.

The climb up Moro Rock. It is actually stairs all the way.

The road into Sequoia seen from Moro Rock.
This is typical of the roads we have traveled for the past two days,
all switchbacks and quick turns.

The western Sierras as seen from Moro Rock. Notice the sharp tree line.

Castle Rocks seen form Moro Rock.
