Fremont Lake

A view of Fremont Lake looking into the Wind River Mountains from the west.

This view is looking west along Fremont Lake. You can clearly see the lateral moraines (the hills on the shore of the lake) and in the distance the terminal moraine at the end of the lake. The lake was created by an alpine glacier where it extended out into the plains in front or the mountain. When the glacier melted it left the moraines of rocks and dirt that it had eroded in the mountain and transported to here.
