The consulting company Arthur Anderson spends more than $300 million per year on professional training. This is larger than the annual budgets of the University of South Carolina, Syracuse University, or Purdue University. It operates campuses in Australia, Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands, and the United States.
The main campus, near Chicago, teaches 62,000 employees per year, over 35,000 of whom work directly for Arthur Anderson. The hefty remainder are clients and outside customers.
Each one of Arthur Anderson's auditors, tax advisors, and management consultants spend 130 contact hours in training per year. This is equivalent to half a semester for a traditional college-age student. (cite)
