Professional Positions

2001-pres. Skidmore College Strategic Communications, Webmaster

Responsible for planning and implementation of the College's web resources. This includes close collaboration with offices across campus to assure that their web content and services accurately reflect each office's requirements. The position also includes substantial user training to help staff across the College to improve their web authoring skills.

Responsible for managing all aspects of academic computing at the college.  This includes personnel supervision, VMS, Unix, Windows & Macintosh system management, network planning and installation, budget preparation, strategic planning, and software development/trouble-shooting in a variety of languages and utilities.

Assistant Professor of Reading, School of Education.  Responsible for planning and conducting graduate courses in clinical reading and learning disabilities.  Conducted research in learning handicaps, and computer-based instruction.

Assistant Professor of Education, College of Liberal Arts.  Responsible for graduate courses in reading and learning disabilities.  Conducted research in learning handicaps and computer-based reading instruction.

Publications

Author of over 20 professional articles in refereed journals (1972 - 1983), 1 book (Addison-Wesley, 1983), and 1 commercial software product (1982).  Since 1982, I have focused solely on internal publications,including newsletters, user guides, and tip sheets in both printed and on-line formats.

Main speaker on numerous training workshops, awareness sessions, and professional presentations for campus, regional and national groups.  Recent presentations have focused on use of the world Wide Web, desktop productivity tools, and major trends in technology usage within the liberal arts.

Community Service

Founding Chair, Town of Greenfield Environmental Commission, advising town government of environmental issues, assisted in rewriting local zoning law.

Member, Board of Governors for library automation consortium consisting of community libraries in a 6 county region surrounding Saratoga Springs NY.
