Who Might This Be?

  • Has serious conflicts with the legislative branch
  • Is loyal to cronies appointed to important positions, removing anyone not personally committed to him
  • Promises economic relief to the working class, but fails to deliver
  • Rejects the advice of his father’s counselors and tends to listen to only those who agree with him and flatter him
  • Bankrupts his country’s economy
  • Engages in an ill-advised foreign war
  • Has a very low approval rating among his people
  • Although his father was known as a warrior, he is not
  • Rejects any curbs on executive power
  • Position and wealth are largely due to inheritance
  • Much of his ruling is in the hands of subordinate
  • Charming, but ineffective leader – style over substance
  • Has very strong religious ties
  • Spends much of his time at leisure
