AJ Paper 3: Graded Revision of Paper 1 OR Paper 2

As writers, we revise to make our meaning clearer. When writers revise, they do more than just proofread: they may incorporate new information and additional sources to develop their ideas further; they may develop existing ideas further--or in new directions--to clarify their meaning; they may rearrange material; they may change syntax and correct grammar and punctuation to achieve greater clarity in their prose. This assignment asks you to revise either Paper 1 OR Paper 2 to deepen the ideas of that paper and make your meaning more clear, effective, and engaging.

Revising a paper means seeing it anew. Several principles guide the revision process. This revision will require you to add new material to develop ideas. You may also wish to delete distracting material and to reorganize the material into a more effective, logical arrangement. These initial stages, which are often interrelated, comprise global revision. After completing these stages, the next step is to make stylistic changes to improve the punctuation, grammar, and readability of your essay. This stage comprises surface level revision--an important but final step. A word of caution: revision is not simply a matter of change for change's sake. The wrong change can hurt a paper. A successful revision reflects thoughtful change(s).

You must turn in the original paper and my comments with your revision.

I will assess and grade Paper 3.
