NOTE: Be sure that you have created your personal Google account before you get started.
From your Google Sites home page, create a NEW Page for your snapshot, selecting "Put page under Home" as the location. Provide a clear Name for your page and click on the Create Page button. You are ready to write!
After you have titled your first Snapshot and included your name and email address, enter the following questions on your snapshot and answer each question: one question and answer per box:
Prior to beginning "Literature and the Environment," what have been your experiences--if any--with Skidmore's North Woods (Have you walked or hiked in them? Have you used them as a living laboratory for a class? Have you partied there? Have you driven by them? Have you looked at them out a window? Have you been oblivious to them?). What are your feelings toward the North Woods? Does having the North Woods as part of the campus matter to you?
How--if at all--are the North Woods important to Skidmore College?
Having read the opening chapter of Treasures in the North Woods, what did you learn about the North Woods? How--if at all--did this history change or inform your perception of the North Woods?
In comparison to other outdoor spaces you know, what do you think distinguishes these woods? What is unique or special about them? What is missing or deficient in the North Woods as a nature space or woods or wild?
OPTIONAL: An additional box containing any preliminary thoughts or visions about your project.
This initial Snapshot is to be completed when you come to class on Tuesday, 29 September. After you have saved and published your Snapshot, post an entry in our discussion board introducing yourself and giving the URL of your Google Sites Home page so that others may view it and comment upon it.
