Working Bibliography and Shorter Writing #3

Working Bibliography

This should list ten sources for your chosen topic and should be compiled according to the MLA guidelines for a "Works Cited" page (see MLA4-b in Hacker).  This is just a "working" list, which means that you don't have to use any or all of these sources in your actual paper.  The ten sources should include each of the following types of sources:

 —a book
 —an encyclopedia entry
—an article in a monthly magazine
—an article in an academic journal
 —an article in a newspaper
—a website, or a short work from a website

Pay close attention to MLA4-b, as your grade will be affected by errors in format.

Shorter Writing #3

This should be a one page summary of the event you've chosen.  The summary should be written in your own words, and shouldn't exceed the one-page limit.  It may be helpful to imagine that you're describing the event to someone who knows nothing about it.  You're the expert: find the clearest way possible to relate the information at your command.

If you need to cite sources, follow the MLA guidelines for in-text citation and include a "Works Cited" page.  However, much of the information in a summary of this sort will be considered "general knowledge" and so won't require citation (see MLA2-a: "Citing quotations and borrowed ideas").
