Write a one-page, double-spaced essay in which you define "race."  I'm not asking for any outside research; rather, I want you to think about what "race" means and develop your ideas in a short essay.  Feel free to use examples to clarify your ideas.

Of course, "race" means many things to many people, and you are free to address this in your essay.  However, I do want you to come up with one definition of the term that feels most persuasive to you.
