| Shorter Writing #2: Anthropological Analysis
This shorter writing will get you moving toward the draft for Writing Project #3. While you don't have to write both assignments on the same topic, it will help if you do. Pick something from your journal that you want to explore in greater detail (or if you're bored by everything in your journal, come up with something new). This one-page essay should consist of two paragraphs. The first paragraph should describe the interaction or event you're focusing on. The second paragraph should analyze the behavior or situation described in the first paragraph. Remember, you only have one page to work with, so don't bite off more in the first paragraph than you can safely chew in the second. While it isn't a capital crime to run a line or two over a page on this assignment, anything more than that will suggest that you haven't focused your attention narrowly enough or that you're not being as concise as you should be. [NOTE: Before you turn in this assignment, look back over your previous essays, paying particular attention to my comments and suggestions regarding grammar and punctuation. Check the appropriate sections of Hacker, and make sure you understand the rules that apply. Then proofread this assignment, making sure that you avoid past mistakes.] |
