The Concentric Yurt windows finally arrived - just in time for Thanksgiving. Josef works to set them in place. |
|
Josef, outside, with Jack (left) and Rick setting the windows. Behind Rick (on this side of the image) you'll see some of the windows on the floor. That's a temporary shed outside these dining area windows. |
|
Ernie Meline fabricated the frames for the 1" thick, low E, thermopanes. They fit very well. Thanks, Ernie! |

We've many things stacked on the sills and lintels of these Yurts. |

Rick is hiding under the tarp, working on the little triangle window in the Gallery. On the left is the kitchen end of the Concentric Yurt, then the windows of the oval office, the gallery, and then the Studio Yurt. |

Here's Rick peeking in the hole for the little triangle window of the gallery. |

Looking from the studio through the doorway to the office. |

This is the gallery with the Studio Yurt at the far end. That's a cherry post we cut from the land. |

This is looking from the office through the gallery into the Studio Yurt. |

This is looking through the gallery from the studio door to the door to the office. There's another manifold in the left by the post. That's a pine post on the left and another cherry post on the right. When the cherry log was peeled right after it was cut, the log appeard as white as this background. Within 20 minutes it was a sweet cherry pink. |

The office being prepared for windows, more ceiling work, insulation...the list goes on. |

The office "roadside" (the other side will be a closet) window holes covered with plastic Note the kerosene heater. We had three mornings in a row before Christmas that started out at -16 F. |

The office to gallery door. The box on the floor is a manifold for the radiant floor heat piping installed in the cement. The duck taped pipe sticking up to the left of the manifold box is a conduit that goes into the Bathroom Yurt, where all the utilities originate. |

The office with the windows in. The image is a bit distorted because of the wide angle lens. |

Here it is without the wide angle lens. We're looking from the door between the gallery and the office to the door (covered in plastic) of the Concentric Yurt. |

This is the gallery ceiling where it merges with the header for the ridge beam at the entry to the Studio Yurt. You'll note that the ceiling came at the header at a plane that would have hid the header. So, Jack raised it just before the header. Perhaps you can see the detail a little better below. |

Okay, the focus is a little soft. But you should be able to see the jog up just before the post. |

You can see the Concentric Yurt, the Bathroom Yurt, and the blue tarp covering the office through the trees. |

A little closer view of the Concentric and Bathroom Yurts and that blue tarp. |

A rather overexposed full moon shot over the Concentric Yurt. |
