Somewhat parlilyzed by the amount of work moving in revealed, we turned to flowers and such. We started asparagus and strawberry beds, transplanted raspberries and blueberries, planted thirteen lilacs from the Taylor homestead in Vermont, and stuck oddles of flowering things we have great expectations for that we picked up at a library plant sale in Salem. This diversion moved us outside, and, though all this might have waited for a season or two, did pick up the spirits a bit.

My neighbor, Frank, seeded wildflowers in 2006. They returned nicely in 2007.

This is the original plant I had hanging at the 1st 4th of July gathering in 2003. Somehow I've managed to keep it going.
