Segunda

Most common in the Hunter/Jumper disciplines

The Segunda bit is a snaffle with a upwards facing port in the center. The port acts upon the roof of the horse's mouth, creating pressure so the horse lifts it's head. This type of bit is used on horses that are strong and pull/lean downward on the riders hands. This bit should not be used for beginners or a rider with heavy hands.
