Fuses are small glass cylinders which have a small thin wire running end to end. Your sound signal passes from one end of the fuse to the other through the small thin wire. We use 2 Amp "quick blow" fuses in the wires which lead from the speaker switch box to the back of each speaker in the studio.

**TO TEST A FUSE: turn off the speaker switches and then the Crown Power Amp

**Then gently remove the fuse from its small holder (careful, it is made of glass !). Now hold the fuse up to the light and look through the glass at the small wire. If you see a break in the wire, or it looks bent, or you see some moisture inside the glass tube.... the fuse is probabaly blown. It's not always clear if a fuse is working just by looking, it takes some experience. If you decide to replace the fuse, **USE ONLY the extra fuses supplied by the instructor, which are located in the main control room.... either on the tape shelf or on the mixing console.**

**After replacing the old fuse with a new one, turn the Crown Amp back on, then the speaker switch.
