Skidmore College benefits immensely from its location in the vibrant, culturally rich city of Saratoga Springs, and the College deeply values its relationship with local organizations, nonprofits, businesses, city government and residents.
Skidmore seeks to contribute to the quality of life in the city through its positive impact in such areas as the economy, cultural life and volunteerism. We have always encouraged the local community — including the many students, faculty and staff who live in Saratoga Springs and neighboring areas — to take advantage of the impressive roster of events and activities on campus — something we look forward to returning to when it is safe to do so.
We are encouraged to see the steady decline of COVID-19 cases in New York and the gradual reopening of the state, but we recognize we are all in this together and are responsible to and for one another as we move forward. Protecting the health and safety of our community and the greater Saratoga Springs community is of utmost importance.
Following weeks of extensive, collaborative work, information-gathering and outreach, we have determined that Skidmore will bring back all or nearly all of its student body for in-person learning and a residential experience this fall.
Skidmore will begin the fall semester two weeks early, on August 24, and end on Friday, November 20, prior to Thanksgiving week. Students will finish exams and final projects remotely. There will not be any break during the fall term.
Planning will continue throughout the summer and updates will be shared on this planning website in the weeks ahead as they become available.
