Skidmore College

Community

Skidmore College benefits immensely from its location in the vibrant, culturally rich city of Saratoga Springs, and the College deeply values its relationship with local organizations, nonprofits, businesses, city government and residents.

Skidmore seeks to contribute to the quality of life in the city through its positive impact in such areas as the economy, cultural life and volunteerism. We have always encouraged the local community — including the many students, faculty and staff who live in Saratoga Springs and neighboring areas — to take advantage of the impressive roster of events and activities on campus — something we look forward to returning to when it is safe to do so.

We recognize that we are all in this together and are responsible to and for one another as we move forward. Protecting the health and safety of our community and the greater Saratoga Springs community is of utmost importance.

Skidmore plans to bring back all or nearly all of its student body for in-person learning and a residential experience this spring, in accordance with all health and safety guidelines.

Skidmore will begin the spring 2021 semester a week later than usual, on Tuesday, Feb. 2, and classes will end at the usual time, on Tuesday, May 4. There will be a break day on Tuesday, March 16.

Planning will continue throughout the winter break, and updates will be shared on this planning website in the weeks ahead as they become available.
