Vaccinations for faculty teaching in person

January 13, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

As announced on Jan. 11, New York state has declared that college instructors who are teaching in person are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. To ensure that faculty members can document their eligibility for the vaccination, the DOF office will send all faculty members who are scheduled to teach in-person courses (in-person, hybrid, hyflex) this semester a letter confirming their eligibility. We will send you an electonic copy via email and a hard copy by mail. If you do not receive a letter but believe you are eligible for the vaccine (for example, you are teaching an in-person independent study), please contact Debbie Peterson.

As a reminder, although other college personnel (faculty and staff) are considered essential workers, they have not yet been approved to receive the vaccination during the first phase of the vaccination rollout. As soon as we receive notification from the state that other college personnel are eligible for the vaccination, we will inform everyone.

Thanks,
Michael T. Orr
