COVID-19 alert level update

April 22, 2021

Dear Skidmore Community,

Effective immediately, the College is moving fully to Alert Level 2, which includes the Alert Level 2 policy for visitors in student housing:

  • On-campus students may visit others on campus (one person per room or apartment).
  • Off-campus students may visit other off-campus students (one person per apartment or house).
  • All students must be masked and socially distanced at all times and cleared in CoVerified.
  • Students living off campus may not be in campus housing. Students in campus housing may not visit off-campus residences.

Additional information about Alert Level 2 and its impact on key services, operations, activities and expectations is available on the Campus Planning website.

This is another welcome development following our move from Alert Level 3 to Alert Level 2 over the weekend, at which time we maintained the more strict Alert Level 3 policy for visits out of an abundance of caution.

As we see positive case results and quarantine figures continue to trend downward, we feel this adjustment can safely be made, as long as everyone in our community continues to take great care — getting tested, masking up, social distancing, avoiding unnecessary travel, and limiting the size of gatherings.

This is certainly encouraging, and I’m grateful to everyone for your commitment and resilience. Together, let’s finish out the final stretch of the spring semester safely and successfully.

Sincerely,

Marc C. Conner
President
