A message regarding new CDC COVID-19 guidance
Dear Skidmore Community,
I write to share with you next steps now that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced new local COVID-19 guidance that will ultimately have implications across our campus, as across our national life.
Specifically, as you may already be aware, this afternoon the CDC released a new tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data.
The College has closely monitored CDC guidelines and decisions throughout the pandemic and adjusted our practices accordingly while also considering the health and well-being of our campus and our community.
We have already begun carefully assessing these new guidelines, which include masking recommendations, and are considering the resulting changes we may implement at Skidmore. We will be discussing potential changes with the Institutional Policy and Planning Committee (IPPC) and the COVID-19 Logistics Working Group, and we will share policy and protocol updates with you upon the conclusion of this review.
In the meantime, thank you for your diligence in continuing to honor the COVID-19 protocols currently in place at Skidmore. We have come this far together, and very soon we will take another step forward as a community.
Sincerely,
Marc Conner
President
