On-campus COVID-19 booster clinic
In partnership with a local pharmacy, Skidmore will hold a COVID-19 booster clinic on campus on Monday, Oct. 10, for students only. The updated bivalent booster will be available for eligible individuals. A second clinic is being planned for later in October as well.
Additional information regarding time, location, and how to sign up will be forthcoming. Please monitor your email.
Again, this clinic is for Skidmore students only, so please do not forward to others. Students who do not have transportation to other local/regional vaccine providers or who face other accessibility challenges are especially urged to sign up for the clinic.
Please remember to bring your COVID-19 vaccination card and health insurance information with you to the clinic. There is no charge for the COVID-19 booster, regardless of health insurance status.
While cases on campus are declining from the start of the semester, boosters offer excellent protection against extended or future community spread and against severe illness — both of which are of critical importance to our campus community's health and well-being as we head into the latefall and winter.
In turn, Skidmore strongly encourages eligible individuals to receive the updated bivalent COVID-19 booster, designed to protect against the most recent Omicron subvariants, as soon as possible and to take advantage of this clinic. The updated (bivalent) boosters are called “bivalent” because they protect against both the original virus that causes COVID-19 andthe Omicron variant BA.4 and BA.5.The CDC states that COVID-19 boosters are safe and effective. For more information, visit the CDC’s website.
Again, this is an excellent, convenient opportunity to receive your booster andhelp protect yourself as well as your family, friends, and our campus community.
Sincerely,
