Returning to Work
Under the New York Forward Safety Plan which outlines a return to operations during the pandemic, higher education administration falls under Phase 2, and a full, residential campus reopening falls under Phase 4. Therefore, Skidmore College has begun preparations for a phased reopening and return to the workplace, beginning with administrative functions that require a presence on campus.
The cornerstone of the College’s reopening plan is the health and safety of employees and other community members. To this end, the College has developed a Reopening Safety Action Plan, which is based on recommendations issued by Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and state and local health authorities.
The College is currently working to develop operational action plans on multiple fronts: residential life, facilities, dining services, academic support services, cocurricular programs and the many other departments that contribute to campus life and operations.
