Voting Information

Skidmore advances active democratic participation and global citizenship through a liberal arts education rooted in freedom of speech and expression and promotes civic engagement. The College also reminds community members of its Policy on Political Activity. Elections for local and county offices will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4. The Wyckoff Center will serve as the campus polling place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Election Day. Only students who live on campus and are registered to vote in New York state may vote on campus. Please visit the Saratoga County website for additional information about the election, including polling places for those who live off campus, early voting, and sample ballots.

President’s open office hours 

President Conner invites all faculty, staff, and students to his open office hours from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11. Email the Office of the President to reserve a 10-minute, in-person meeting.

Celebrating the Africana Studies and the Mellon Foundation Grant

Join us from 4:30–6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, in the Wyckoff Center to celebrate four years of racial justice initiatives funded by the Mellon Foundation grant, "Africana Studies and the Humanities at Skidmore: Transnational Explorations in Social Justice." The event will feature shared reflections, a short documentary, and food.

‌Course withdrawal deadline 

‌The deadline to withdraw from fall 2025 courses without a grade penalty is Thursday, Nov. 13. Visit the Course Withdrawal Considerations page for more information.

‌Changes to CDTA bus service to campus


The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has announced plans to make service changes to routes in Saratoga Springs, including service to Skidmore, effective Sunday, Nov. 30. Route No. 452, which currently serves campus, will no longer be in service, except for late night Skidmore service on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Riders will have access to CDTA’s FLEX On Demand service, an on-demand, point-to-point service that uses CDTA’s Navigator app. Click here to view an interactive map of Saratoga Springs FLEX Zone and FLEX Points. CDTA will hold an information session on the new routes at the Saratoga Springs Public Library at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

‌John McQueen Memorial Exhibition 

‌The Tang presents the “John McQueen Memorial Exhibition” Nov. 2–9 honoring the late conceptual fiber artist (1943–2025), a longtime Saratoga Springs resident featured in past exhibitions including “Affinity Atlas” (2015) and "The World According to the Newest and Most Exact Observations" (2001).

‌‌Skidmania '75 tickets on sale now

‌Skidmore’s biggest student-led concert returns to Zankel Music Center for two nights only – Friday, Nov. 21, and Saturday, Nov. 22. Tickets are $5 for students and $15 for faculty and staff. Purchase tickets before they sell out. All proceeds benefit Skidmore Cares.

‌Thanksgiving pie and bread orders

‌‌Dining Services will be selling homemade bread and pies for Thanksgiving. All orders must be received by Friday, Nov. 21. Pickup will be on Tuesday, Nov. 25 and Wednesday, Nov. 26.

‌‌Queer adornment practice 

‌Join Ollie Schwartz of Pushcart Judaica at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Case Center, first floor, for a creative hands-on workshop on exploring sacred objects, adornment, queerness, and ritual beautification. Contact Alexandra Prince for more information.

‌Kids Night Out is back

‌The baseball team will sponsor Kids Night Out on Friday, Nov. 7. The event is open to ages 6–13 and costs $10 per child. Activities include swimming, basketball and more. For more information, contact Ron Plourde.

‌Mexico Now Colloquium

‌“Mexico Now: Storytelling, Power, and Resistance in the 21st Century” is a two-day colloquium featuring acclaimed authors Juan Pablo Villalobos and Guadalupe Nettel. The event will be held Friday, Oct. 31, and Saturday, Nov. 1, in the Wyckoff Center. Presenters will explore storytelling, political agency, and cultural identity in Mexico through literature, film, and other artistic forms.

“Preparing for a Home Sale: From Decluttering to the Sale”

The Retiree Initiative Planning Group will host “Preparing for a Home Sale: From Decluttering to the Sale,” at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Surrey-Williamson Inn. Speakers include Kirstin Drabek ’94, associate broker at Keller Williams Realty, and Sheilah Sable, owner and founder of Call Sheilah. RSVP by Monday, Nov. 3, to Terry Diggory.

Skidmore Weekly Bulletin submission procedure and schedule

Help reduce bulk emails by posting your announcement in Skidmore Weekly Bulletin, which is distributed to all employees as well as to all students. Submit announcements and events, and faculty and staff achievements by completing the appropriate online form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday. Athletics

Pack the Rink kicks off the men’s ice hockey season Friday, Oct. 31, as the Thoroughbreds host Wentworth Institute of Technology at the Saratoga City Rink. The game begins at 7 p.m., with a free shuttle from Case Center departing at 6:30 p.m. At 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, field hockey wraps its regular season against SUNY Cortland. Men’s soccer will play for seeding as it hosts Rochester Institute of Technology at 2 p.m. in its regular-season finale. Volleyball will host a tri-match beginning at 2 p.m. with matches against Clarkson University and SUNY Oswego. Stay tuned for upcoming playoff matchups beginning next Tuesday.
