Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Skidmore is partnering with MLK Saratoga to support the 2026 Dr. King Celebration Weekend, Jan. 16–19. On-campus events include a Student Arts Showcase in Case Center and a Dr. King-themed Family at the Tang. The weekend also features live music by Soulist Garland Nelson ’96, speakers, including Professor Kate Graney, and a keynote address by Minister Steven Boxley. Science on Tap at Common Roots
Brewing Science on Tap returns to Common Roots Brewing on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Daniel Peterson, associate professor and associate chair of psychology, will present “Fake News on Social Media: Exploring Age Effects.” Doors open at 6 p.m., and the presentation begins at 7 p.m. A full schedule of upcoming talks is available online.
Community winter sowing workshop
Join us for a winter sowing workshop 5–7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, in BTCIS 101A. Participants will plant pollinator plants for the Skidmore Community Garden or may bring a clear container, such as a milk jug or takeout container, to plant for a home garden. Empty milk jugs needed
Greenberg Child Care Center is seeking clean, dry, empty gallon milk jugs for a special winter project. Please drop donations off outside the main entrance of the Center (located at the end of North Broadway) during regular business hours.
