About Michael

Mike Ormsbee is director of Florida State's Institute of Sports Sciences and Medicine, a research institute that merges three primary areas: Nutrition, Food, and Exercise Sciences; Athletics; and the College of Medicine. (See http://www.chs.fsu.edu/issm.)

Additional Background:

-Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Durban, South Africa.

-In 2014, he received Florida State's Undergraduate Teaching Award, Excellence in Teaching, and Excellence in Course Design Awards.

-Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM) and the International Society of Sports Nutrition (FISSN).

-Competitive age-group triathlete who competes in sprint, Olympic, and 70.3 Ironman events.
