Workplace Injuries

Report any workplace accident or injury to your supervisor (regardless of the severity of the accident or injury) as soon as possible.  If immediate medical treatment is required, seek treatment at Urgent Care/Wilton Medical Arts or Saratoga Hospital Emergency Room (your Supervisor can arrange transportation if needed).  Any follow-up medical treatment must be sought or managed through Corporate Health Services/Malta Medical (Exit 12 off the Northway) for the first 30 days following a work related injury.

Once medical treatment is secured, an Accident Report must be completed - forms are available from your supervisor or can be downloaded directly from Human Resources' web site.

Once completed by the employee, the supervisor will complete their portion of the form, sign it, and then fax a copy to Human Resources.  A letter will then be mailed to the employee which outlines any next steps and the College's Workers' Compensation Program.

In addition, the College's Ergonomics Program may help to reduce or eliminate injuries associated with repetitive motion and manual material handling work tasks. Information on this program can be found on the HR website.

If you have questions or require additional information with respect to any Handbook content, please contact Human Resources (extension 5800).
