Students traveled to visit the donor and interviewed her for context behind the donation and the collection’s history, designed the exhibit and wrote descriptive labels, and developed a catalog of the exhibit. However, it has proven more difficult to actualize religious freedom in practice than to espouse it in theory. Panelists will present case studies from the Unites States, India, Morocco, and Israel to ask questions such as what varieties of religion gain state protection? What is the relationship between popular and legal support for unorthodox forms of religion that challenge prevailing norms?
