Yaddo, the nation’s preeminent artists’ retreat, is proud of its
longstanding relationship with the local community and delighted
to support the Saratoga Springs Horse Show by providing the
grounds for this important occasion. We wish our friends much
success with this year’s event.

PRESIDENT, THE CORPORATION OF YADDO
Yaddo was founded in 1900 by financier Spencer Trask and his
wife Katrina, a poet. Its mission is to offer creative artists the rare
gift of a supportive environment with uninterrupted time to think,
experiment, and create. Since opening its doors as a retreat in
1926, Yaddo has welcomed more than 6500 artists working
in film and television, literature, musical composition, the visual
arts, and performance art. It was designated a National Historic
Landmark in 2013. While most of the estate is dedicated to the
artists’ residency program, the historic Yaddo Gardens are free
and open to the public year-round.
