Skidmore’s annual orientation of students includes sessions on the prevention of sexual assault, alcohol and drug abuse, and safety precautions. In addition, the College’s residence hall staff and Campus Safety officers receive special training in sexual misconduct aware-ness, and they provide ongoing education and support for students in the residence halls. To assist in this effort, the College has developed a brochure on its sexual misconduct pol-icy for the purpose of community and student awareness. Stickers are posted in residence halls that guide students regarding actions they should take, and what people to contact, if they believe they have been sexually assaulted. Students are also advised of the importance of preserving evidence for proof in a criminal offense. Students are advised of the availabil-ity of counseling (both on and off campus) and other victim services as well as the impor-tance of preserving evidence for criminal action. They are also advised of their option to report the assault to the police and that Campus Safety will assist in this notification.

• The College will make reasonable efforts to change an alleged victim’s academic and living situation and provide these options after an alleged sex offense.

• The alleged victim and accused are entitled to have others present during any discipli- nary proceeding.

• Both the alleged victim and accused must be informed of the outcome of any College disciplinary proceeding regarding an alleged sex offense. For purposes of this section, the
