Statement of Support for Inclusion - February 2017

We live in a tumultuous and uncertain time when many of the rights to fair and inclusive treatment that we take for granted may now be under threat. The Management and Business Department at Skidmore College wishes to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to preserve a welcoming, supportive and open-minded environment that does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, age, ability, gender expression and identity, or socio-economic status. The best business practices are those that embrace diversity, and we wish to continue in this inclusionary tradition. We pride ourselves on listening respectfully to multiple voices and working strenuously to challenge uninformed and unscientific prejudice. Our ultimate goal is to create and foster a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

Statement on Software for MB Students

The Management and Business Department expects all students enrolled in MB courses to have and to use the Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (or Prezi as an alternative to Powerpoint). Students should access this software using a free download accessible through Skidmore’s IT office. By using this software throughout the MB curriculum, students will develop essential skills for their careers.
