Diversity issues at the intersections of gender and race brought audiences together last week for a second year of "In It" discussions and forums.- "As an experimental social psychologist, I'm interested in how people see each other and how that affects their interactions," says Leigh Wilton, who joined Skidmore's psychology faculty last year. Gender and race are her top issues.
- "We don't like to admit it, but identity biases can play very strong roles in our interactions," says Tim Harper, who teaches a course on social identity in the workplace. How does he get students to engage openly?
- 'At a time of year that should be devoted to joy and celebration, let us acknowledge, honor, and share the pain that too many people in our country are experiencing as the result of racial and other factors that continue to divide our nation,' he writes.
